Here is the horse trike!
It’s a headless and legless horse. I believe with the wheels moving it would emulate the horse running, especially the rear wheels. The front wheel has two rods which could simulate legs. I have provided pictures for your inspiration. To me, at certain angles the trike looks like a rhino. Maybe it could be called a rhino trike, but I am sticking with the horse for the animal of this trike.
PS. Stay tuned as my idea keeps evolving on the trike and now I’m working on a fold up trike that can have an electric kit installed as well as making the enclosed portion foldable! Think of it like an electric tent on wheels…
Hello all! I noticed that Luca Comba almost has my idea in totality! Great job Luca! A few things he is missing are the AC/heater, doors, and a floor for the trike. You can Youtube it to see his idea (put Luca Comba electric bike in the search). He is selling them as per the Youtube video, but I don’t know if he is still in production. I believe he is located in Italy. I was thinking of something close to that design, but I couldn’t see it and so I abandon that idea. In NY, the bike lanes are close to 5 feet in width, and his bike looks around 3-5 feet wide.
I am working on making an enclosed electric trike that can be brought into one’s apartment (around 28 inches wide and around 6 feet long). I first plan on posting the horse trike design that I relayed would be completed by the end of the month. I may post a few more times relaying ideas prior to that horse trike post. I also did a price check with a bike shop in lower Manhattan and the bike shop personnel stated that the shell itself would cost $2000- $2500. That’s not even including the wheels ! I would need to find a cheaper price for the shell since I’m trying to have the bike produced for $2000 ultimately. I may have to have parts shipped from Asia…
Hello. I was trying to make a king cobra design that has proven quite difficult. I wanted to emulate the flaring of the skin at the sides of the head. I also wanted to emulate the snake coiling without actually making the bike coil up. That has proven arduous. I was thinking to make the coiling abstract while making the trike look like a king cobra. After a few failed attempts, I decided to make a horse design (I noticed that one of my designs started to look like a horse, and therefore let creativity run its course). I am still working on the horse design, and it is proving to be a task as well.
I plan on trying to finish the horse design by the end of August. Also, I was trying to figure out a way to make the frame of the trike look like an exoskeleton so that true bikers still have that feeling of showing off their frame. I was thinking practically that this may not be the best route, as water and snow build up may occur between the crevices of the frame. Sometimes being different isn’t the best route. I plan on seeing if I can implement something that allows for the frame to be on the outside (or perhaps thin pieces of metal strips on the outside instead of the frame).
Feel free to add your two cents!
